Gilfach margam mountain

Highlight was a single Teal that flew up from pond at the bodvic stone area in forestry, the bird flew around in a loop before dropping down into boggy pools that have formed in the clear fell, also 8 Snipe flushed from the same area, other birds were Fieldfare 24+30, Buzzard 4, Great spotted woodpecker 1, Starlings 300+, Rook 9, Raven 5, a large flock of 20+ Coal tit with a single Goldcrest amonst them working their way through the small conifers near the pine crossing behind margam, Peregrine 1 over the green fields, Meadow pipits  20+, Bullfinch 2, Mistle thrush 5, still no sign of great grey shrike despite good search of the area, and no sign of any crossbill which is dissapointing, is the felling of the trees having a affect on the birds?
